SpeedGauge and inthinc Settle Patent Litigation

SAN FRANCISCO, April 25, 2013 - SpeedGauge, Inc., an international provider of business intelligence and location-based analytics for the trucking and insurance industries, today announced that it has settled its ongoing legal dispute with inthinc Technology Solutions, Inc.

In April 2011, SpeedGauge brought an action against inthinc in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, alleging that certain inthinc products infringed SpeedGauge's driver safety analytics patent (U.S. Pat. No. 7,356,392). inthinc filed counterclaims, alleging that SpeedGauge's marquee SpeedGauge ASP application infringed an inthinc patent. inthinc has agreed to dismiss all of its counterclaims against SpeedGauge.

Jonathan Hubbard, CEO and co-founder of SpeedGauge, reported that he was pleased with the outcome of the litigation, calling it "a complete validation of SpeedGauge's position as a pioneering practitioner in the field of driver safety analytics." Mr. Hubbard continued, "Our licensed partners rely on SpeedGauge's patented technology to help their fleet customers to better understand driver risk and to change driver behavior. At SpeedGauge, we look forward to continuing to bring exciting proprietary and patented technologies to our partners that enable them to build the differentiated solutions needed to win new customers.
